Ridge #646

The Ridge Trail #646 is located on the Fruita Division, south of Glade Park. This trail is a major route through the Fruita Division from FSR 401on the eastern edge connecting to FSR 400 on west.  The southern trailheads access is off Eighteen Mile Road, FSR 401, to Enoch’s Lake and intersects other trails on the Fruita Division. The trail is maintained for a moderate level of difficulty.  It climbs approximately 200 feet in elevation but the hills are very gradual slopes.  The trail travels through aspen/spruce and small meadows.

EASTERN ACCESS:

From Grand Junction CO, follow State Hwy 340 for approximately 0.7 miles to the intersection with Monument Road (a fee may be required).  Turn left onto Monument Road a travel approximately 7.3 miles to the intersection with Mesa County D S Road. Turn Left onto D S Road and continue to the Glade Park Store. From the Glade Park Store, turn left onto Mesa County 16 5/10 Road and continue south for approximately 7.7 miles, past the Mud Spring Campground, to the intersection with Mesa County J S Road.  Turn left onto J S Road and continue for approximately 1.7 miles to the intersection with Mesa County 18 Mile Road.  Turn right onto 18 Mile Road and continue past Enoch Lake to the Ridge Trail #646 parking area.

WESTERN ACCESS:

From Grand Junction CO, follow State Hwy 340 for approximately 0.7 miles to the intersection with Monument Road (a fee may be required).  Turn left onto Monument Road a travel approximately 7.3 miles to the intersection with Mesa County Road D S. Turn Left onto D S Road and continue to the Glade Park Store. From the Glade Park Store, turn left onto Mesa County Road 16 5/10 and continue south for approximately 9.5 miles, past the Mud Spring Campground, to the National Forest Boundary.  At the boundary, County Road 16 5/10 turn into Forest Service Road 400.  Follow FSR 400 for approximately 4 miles to a fork in the road, stay to the left and follow the road for approximately 0.25 miles to the Ridge Trail #646 Western Trailhead.
