Huntington Lake Recreation Area

Huntington Lake offers many activities, including swimming, sailing, boating, non-motorized boating, fishing and water skiing. Additionally, California Land Management sponsors a variety of interpretive programs and nature walks throughout the summer at several locations in the Huntington Lake area.

College Rock Trailhead

Five mile round trip. No fishing or swimming. No facilities. Pack in your water; do not drink from streams or lakes. A steep and strenuous hike. Once you reach College Rock, you will be at the half waypoint to Kaiser Peak.

Directions: Kaiser Wilderness – From Eastwood Visitor Center at Huntington Lake, travel west on the Huntington Lake Road until you reach the Kinnikinnick Campground, turn right into the campground, keep to the right and continue .5 miles on Upper Deer Creek Road and follow signs to the D& F Pack Station. Trailhead starts at Pack Station. Parking available at the D&F pack station.

Recreation Point Picnic Area

Located on Bass Lake. Area has pine, oak and cedar trees. Sites have good shade.

  • Total Picnic Sites: 4
  • Paved Road Access
  • Has tables, flush restrooms, grills and piped water.
  • Volleyball court (bring you own net), baseball field, access to the lake. Pets are permitted, must be on leash.

Directions: Take Hwy 41 north from Fresno; continue thru Oakhurst to Road 222. Turn right on Road 222, travel east 3 miles and turn right (Road 222), continue for 3/10 of a mile and bear right again. Travel 1/2 of a mile around the south side of the Lake to the Recreation Point Picnic Site.

Westfall Picnic Site

Shaded by pine, fir and cedar trees, Westfall Picnic Area offers four picnic sites.  Water is not provided. Trash service is available during the summer months.
