Operated in partnership with the Maryland Park Service, this visitor center considers the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman, born a slave here in Dorchester County, Maryland. Tubman escaped her condition of slavery and returned to Maryland to bring more than 70 relatives and friends to freedom using the Underground Railroad network.
