The Discovery Trail #745 was built to serve as a short scenic route out of the Visitors Center providing hikers with a couple of vista points overlooking Deep Slough, Ward Lake, and the rest of the valley below. It is a graveled trail and is used as an interpreative trail. From the North/ Eastern corner of this loop there exists a section of trail which leaves the loop and ties in with the Twilight Campground.

Directions
This trail begins and ends out of the Visitor Center which is located just east of the Hwy 65 and Trickle Park Road, FSR #121 junction. Travel either approximately 23 miles south on hwy 65 from Mesa, or north from Cedaredge for approximately 16 miles. Travel east on the Trickel Park Road for about 100 yards to the Visitor Center and the Discovery Trailhead. They are located on the right (south) side of the Trickel Park Road.
