The Ophir Wall offers multi-pitch climbs ranging in difficulty from 5.6 to 4.10 pitches. Friction slabs with fixed protection are located down the left shoulder of the wall. The wall also offers a number of aid climbs. Cracked Canyon offers beginner to advanced climbing. Most of the routes are traditional or mixed but a few purely bolted lines exist. The routes range in difficulty from 5.3 to 5.13, with an emphasis in the 5.7 – 5.10 range.
Directions
From Telluride, CO travel 4 miles west on Colorado State Highway 145. Turn south at the first highway intersection, continuing south on Colorado State Highway 145 for approximately 6 miles turning east (left) at the Ophir turnoff onto Forest Road #630 (Ophir Pass Road). Proceed approximately 1/3 mile to the Ophir Wall undeveloped parking area located on the north side of the road. Continue approximately 200 yards east on Forest Road #630 to Cracked Canyon. This is an unmarked site. Look for the access route that proceeds north from the road.
