Canon Infierno #461

The Canon Infierno Trail #461 begins at the Brush Creek Trailhead on Forest Road #788 and end at Devil’s Lake.  It travels along the wilderness boundary following Brush Creek and eventually enters the BLM Powderhorn Wilderness, where Wilderness Regulation do apply.  This trail provides access to Devil’s Lake and the Cannibal Plateau as well.  Fishing in Brush Creek is good and fishing in Devil’s Lake varies from year to year.  Cannibal Plateau and Powderhorn Wilderness are flat, high elevation, alpine tundra ecosystems offering expansive views of the San Juan and La Garita Mountain Ranges.  Herds of elk are a common sight at the upper end of the trail.  Trail Map
